Until Next Time…

June 20, 2024

We recently eclipsed the two-year mark of Grey Everlasting’s release. The album, for all intents and purposes, will be our last for the foreseeable future. We achieved most of our goals in Deathwhite and as we continue our prolonged, likely indefinite hiatus, we remain grateful to those who supported the band along the way. It will never be forgotten. – DW

2022: In Closing

December 21, 2022

We would like to extend thanks to those who supported Deathwhite throughout 2022, particularly upon the release of our third album, Grey Everlasting. The year also marked our tenth as a band. Deathwhite started under the basic premise of friends getting together to record the music we wanted to hear. We are happy that we have stayed on that path ten years later. It has been our abundant pleasure to create and share two EPs and three studio albums under our own terms. To do anything less would be inconsequential.

With that in mind, 2023 will see the vinyl release of our Solitary Martyr and Ethereal EPs. We are also a quarter of the way through songwriting for album number four. Confirmed song titles include: “Carrion,” “Buried in Red” and “Woven Through Pestilence.” Needless to say, we are excited about the direction of the new material.

Thank you, again, for joining us on this journey. Our best to you and yours. – DW

Ardua Music will issue the “Ethereal” and “Solitary Martyr” EPs on vinyl in early 2023. We are, of course, elated by the news. It has long been a wish to have both EPs released on vinyl. We are grateful that David and Ardua Music are doing this for us. The release is limited to 200 copies on white vinyl and includes exclusive liner notes.

You can pre-order the LP at this location. -DW

‘Grey Everlasting’ Regards

August 3, 2022

Our sincere thanks to those who have picked up or listened to Grey Everlasting since its June release. In most cases, words cannot express our gratitude. We will be sharing more album reviews and band interviews in the future, as well as updates concerning our next venture — a cover song. -DW

‘White Sleep’ Single Released

May 12, 2022

It is our utter distinction to share the third single from Grey Everlasting, ‘White Sleep.’ Like ‘Earthtomb,’ ‘White Sleep’ explores new territory, most notably on the vocal front. We have long been wedded to clean vocals, but ‘White Sleep’ provided the opportunity to try something more aggressive. The song is our encapsulation of the last several years when the desire to remain in a state of eternal sleep sometimes outweighed dealing with the reality that is the world and its innumerable, unsolvable issues. It is no doubt a struggle many have experienced. In the end though, it is a far greater achievement to pull oneself up by the proverbial boot straps and forge ahead. – DW

DEATHWHITE To Release ‘Grey Everlasting’ On June 10; ‘Earthtomb’ Video Now Available

March 9, 2022

We are proud to announce that Season of Mist will release our third studio album, Grey Everlasting, on June 10. Pre-orders are available at this location. The album can be pre-saved to your streaming library here.

We were fortunate to work with the same personnel as Grave Image: Shane Mayer engineered and mixed the album; Art Paiz tracked vocals at Mana Recording; the legendary Dan Swanö was responsible for mastering and Jérôme Comentale reprised his role as the cover artist.

More will be revealed regarding Grey Everlasting’s creation and direction as the release date approaches. In the interim, it is our abundant pleasure to share the video for “Earthtomb,” the album’s first single. The immaculate Guilherme Henriques shot the clip in Aceredo, Spain and Porto, Portugal. Unfortunately, the song and video are a rather timely and direct reflection of the times we live when unchecked power, deception, gas-lighting and flat-out lies are used as tools to wreak havoc upon humanity and sow discord.

“Earthtomb” was written as our observation — and inherent wish — that these individuals succumb to their misdeeds. What is happening in Ukraine at the moment has, for the members of Deathwhite, made this song more prescient than ever. Our hearts go out to those impacted by this utter tragedy.”

Grey Everlasting track listing:

1. Nihil
2. Earthtomb
3. No Thought or Memory
4. Quietly, Suddenly
5. Grey Everlasting
6. White Sleep
7. Immemorial
8. Formless
9. So We Forget
10. Blood and Ruin
11. Asunder

Looking Ahead to 2022

December 20, 2021

We conclude 2021 by looking ahead to 2022. Our third studio album, Grey Everlasting, has been delivered and awaits its release through Season of Mist. Like so many bands, we must wait patiently while the excellent people at our record label make the proper arrangements in the face of disruption. To our knowledge, Grey Everlasting will likely see the light of day sometime in June or July. In the interim, we are pondering appropriate promotional avenues and working on our first cover song. (Hint: It’s not a Katatonia song.)

We’d be remiss if we did not relay our appreciation for those who continue to support Deathwhite. It has meant the world to us. We will reach ten years as a band in 2022. Certainly, no one in the room during that early January day thought Deathwhite would last this long. We are happy we did and look forward to what’s ahead.
