“Poisoned” Live Track Available Via Bandcamp

February 6, 2019

To all of our supporters,

Please follow the link below to our Bandcamp page to get a free version of “Poisoned”

This version of ‘Poisoned’ is taken from our very first live show this past September. The audio was captured on a hand-held video recorder, of all things, but, we wanted to share at least one song from this performance to demonstrate the gradual evolution of the band. For our first six years, DEATHWHITE existed solely as a studio project, but the move into the live arena has been fulfilling to the point where we will certainly be doing more shows. We are currently knee-deep into the demo process for our second full-length studio album, which we hope to record in the near future. For now, we hope you enjoy this version of ‘Poisoned’ and extend our sincere gratitude to those who have supported us throughout 2018.

Wrapping Up 2018

December 20, 2018

This will not be a sprawling summation of the year that was, but rather, an acknowledgment of the support we received throughout 2018. We humbly thank those who listened to and/or purchased and/or streamed our first full-length, For a Black Tomorrow, as well as the excellent folks at Season of Mist for making the album a reality in February. None of those would have been possible without any of the above.

We are currently in throes of writing and demoing new material, of which enthusiasm is palpable within our ever-closed ranks. We look forward to sharing such details as 2019 starts to unfold. Until then…

Reflections Upon First-Ever Live Date

September 10, 2018

We are honored to have shared the stage with Argus this past Friday. We could not have asked for a better first live appearance and send our sincere thanks to those who came out and supported both bands. In the meantime, we look forward to future live shows in support of “For a Black Tomorrow” as well as continuing to write new material – DW

DEATHWHITE announce first-ever live performance

June 18, 2018

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE has announced their first-ever live appearance slated for Friday, September 7 at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA. They will be joined by fellow Pittsburgh traditional doom metallers Argus.

Regarding the live appearance, the band comments, “Since our 2012 formation, we have frequently stated our intention to never play live. It was never a suitable idea until we had the good fortune of aligning ourselves with Season of Mist, who, along with several other people close to the band helped us realize this endeavor. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that our first-ever show will take place this September with ARGUS, a band who we not only respect immensely but also enjoy a personal relationship with. As a result of expanding our lineup to include a second guitarist/backing vocalist and bassist, we have spent the better part of this year rehearsing the songs from our recent album, ‘For A Black Tomorrow’, as well as the songs from our 2015 ‘Solitary Martyr’ EP. We plan on replicating the sound of both albums to the best of our ability in addition to providing a visual component fitting of our overall aesthetic. In other words: This should be a memorable experience for all parties involved.”

Ticket and additional show details to follow.

A sincere thanks to Chris Smith for the flyer design.

“For a Black Tomorrow” At One Month

March 24, 2018

It is with the utmost appreciation that we’d like to recognize those who were kind enough to purchase, or even listen to “For a Black Tomorrow.” The reception has been beyond our imagination. The band has been entrenched in a rehearsal room in preparation for live shows, which, if luck would have it, will take place later this year. We do not have an approximate timetable on the matter. Updates will be posted on this very site. Until then…

‘The Grace Of The Dark’ Now Streaming

January 21, 2018

Season of Mist has uploaded the track “The Grace Of The Dark,” which can be streamed below.

The last song we composed for the For a Black Tomorrow album, “The Grace of the Dark” features one of our more melancholic riffs that is combined with outside instrumentation, i.e. keyboards, which marks a first for Deathwhite. We felt so strongly about the song upon its completion that we felt it had to be lead-off track on the album. And lyrically, it tells the story of someone who only finds solace in the darkest and quietest of places…
