‘White Sleep’ Single Released

May 12, 2022

It is our utter distinction to share the third single from Grey Everlasting, ‘White Sleep.’ Like ‘Earthtomb,’ ‘White Sleep’ explores new territory, most notably on the vocal front. We have long been wedded to clean vocals, but ‘White Sleep’ provided the opportunity to try something more aggressive. The song is our encapsulation of the last several years when the desire to remain in a state of eternal sleep sometimes outweighed dealing with the reality that is the world and its innumerable, unsolvable issues. It is no doubt a struggle many have experienced. In the end though, it is a far greater achievement to pull oneself up by the proverbial boot straps and forge ahead. – DW

DEATHWHITE To Release ‘Grey Everlasting’ On June 10; ‘Earthtomb’ Video Now Available

March 9, 2022

We are proud to announce that Season of Mist will release our third studio album, Grey Everlasting, on June 10. Pre-orders are available at this location. The album can be pre-saved to your streaming library here.

We were fortunate to work with the same personnel as Grave Image: Shane Mayer engineered and mixed the album; Art Paiz tracked vocals at Mana Recording; the legendary Dan Swanö was responsible for mastering and Jérôme Comentale reprised his role as the cover artist.

More will be revealed regarding Grey Everlasting’s creation and direction as the release date approaches. In the interim, it is our abundant pleasure to share the video for “Earthtomb,” the album’s first single. The immaculate Guilherme Henriques shot the clip in Aceredo, Spain and Porto, Portugal. Unfortunately, the song and video are a rather timely and direct reflection of the times we live when unchecked power, deception, gas-lighting and flat-out lies are used as tools to wreak havoc upon humanity and sow discord.

“Earthtomb” was written as our observation — and inherent wish — that these individuals succumb to their misdeeds. What is happening in Ukraine at the moment has, for the members of Deathwhite, made this song more prescient than ever. Our hearts go out to those impacted by this utter tragedy.”

Grey Everlasting track listing:

1. Nihil
2. Earthtomb
3. No Thought or Memory
4. Quietly, Suddenly
5. Grey Everlasting
6. White Sleep
7. Immemorial
8. Formless
9. So We Forget
10. Blood and Ruin
11. Asunder

Looking Ahead to 2022

December 20, 2021

We conclude 2021 by looking ahead to 2022. Our third studio album, Grey Everlasting, has been delivered and awaits its release through Season of Mist. Like so many bands, we must wait patiently while the excellent people at our record label make the proper arrangements in the face of disruption. To our knowledge, Grey Everlasting will likely see the light of day sometime in June or July. In the interim, we are pondering appropriate promotional avenues and working on our first cover song. (Hint: It’s not a Katatonia song.)

We’d be remiss if we did not relay our appreciation for those who continue to support Deathwhite. It has meant the world to us. We will reach ten years as a band in 2022. Certainly, no one in the room during that early January day thought Deathwhite would last this long. We are happy we did and look forward to what’s ahead.

‘Grey Everlasting’ Album Update

October 18, 2021

It is with distinct pleasure to share that Grey Everlasting has been handed over to the esteemed Season of Mist for a late spring/early summer 2022 release. While we are sworn to secrecy on the album’s particulars, we can share that it features 11 songs, including an instrumental. Grey Everlasting is our longest album to date but also includes some of our shortest songs. To coin a term from our U.K. friends, we are properly “chuffed” with the album, but, of course, you, the fair, trusted listening audience, will make your determination in due time. – DW

DEATHWHITE Enters Studio To Record Third Album, ‘Grey Everlasting’

June 10, 2021

Enigmatic American dark metallers DEATHWHITE have entered Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer to track their third full-length album, “Grey Everlasting”.

Comments the band: “It is our pleasure to share we are in the throes of recording our third album, ‘Grey Everlasting’. We have opted for continuity between studio albums: The same people responsible for bringing ‘Grave Image’ to life will do the same for ‘Grey Everlasting’. This includes the esteemed Mr. Mayer, who, in his third studio go-round with us, is more invaluable than ever. We will be tracking vocals in July at Mana Recording in Saint Petersburg, Florida, under the supervision of Art Paiz. Mastering duties will fall onto the legendary Dan Swanö (BLOODBATH, EDGE OF SANITY). And, lastly, the artwork will be handled by Jérôme Comentale, who has created our prior three albums covers.

“While we have assembled a familiar cast of characters, ‘Grey Everlasting’, to our ears, is by no means a rehash of ‘Grave Image’. We have introduced some new elements, some of which can be described as ‘extreme.’ The songs are also doomier and more atmospheric in their approach while retaining our core stylistic traits. We did the bulk of the songwriting during the pandemic’s darkest and most isolating moments. It is our belief such feelings resonate throughout the album’s 11 songs. In the meantime, we greatly look forward to sharing them with you and wish everyone continued safety.”

“Grave Image” Video Released

December 17, 2020

We are concluding 2020 with the issuance of a visualizer video for the title track of our latest studio album, Grave Image. The video was created by Guilherme Henriques, who we also had the pleasure of working with on the lyric video for “Among Us.”

The themes reflected in both the video and song are indicative of the world we currently occupy — the pandemic of 2020 simply amplified those matters. The havoc wrought upon this planet via the denial of science and facts will have an adverse effect for generations to come. As suggested in the accompanying lyrics for “Grave Image” the song, these wanton acts are far from an illusion, but instead are now a part of everyday, real life.

With 2020 about to bow out, we are looking toward the future, namely our third studio album. We are currently deep in the throes of songwriting and demoing, and immensely look forward to putting the finishing touches on these compositions. The early verdict is that these songs are slower, doomier, and, dare we say more “atmospheric” than before.

We would also be remiss if we did not thank those who supported Deathwhite in 2020. We are forever in your debt.

Until next time,
DW

Pest Webzine Interview

August 16, 2020

Our utmost thanks for the continued support for Grave Image. The album was released in late January, which, in these times, feels like eons ago. To that end, the below interview was conducted by the great folks at Pest Webzine in February. We hope you enjoy it — it is one of the more thorough and detailed we’ve had the pleasure of taking part in. – DW

‘Among Us’ Lyric Video Released

July 3, 2020

It is with great pleasure to share the lyric video for “Among Us,” which was created by the supremely-talented Guilherme Henriques.

As we are often wont to do, many of the songs on ‘Grave Image’ were revised and tinkered with until we were satisfied, but no song received a bigger overhaul than ‘Among Us.’ The song’s original tempo was half of its current state; it was doomy, perhaps excessively so. Common sense ultimately prevailed and we were able to not only speed the song up (a term we should use loosely in this context) but also work in a somewhat basic chorus by our standards. The song itself has a fairly simple message: Ignorance, falsehoods and gaslighting are not to be tolerated. Unfortunately, these people are still ‘among us,’ spreading their untruths and grievances in very public and far-reaching forums. May it all fall on deaf ears.
